Help me out guys: Rubbing while turning Steering wheel
Car details:
95 Acura Integra
205xxx miles
Problem:
If i turn the steering wheel (side to side) while Im in a stationary position, I hear a rubbing sound. It sounds like a dog howling or metal rubbing up against dried rubber?
It is very audible from inside the car and not so much outside.
I found this service bulletin:
http://www.acuraworld.com/tsb/1996/b96-055.pdf
Bought the exact lubricant stated in the bulletin and it still makes the same sound.
Can you guys help me out. I feel like i just want to get rid of the car =(
Thanks guys

You shouldn't be turning the wheel with the car stationary. And you want to get rid of the car because it makes a noise when you do something you shouldn't?
Get a stethoscope and identify the exact source of the noise.

Im just frustrated. The car has done me good. Ive had it for 8 years.
About the stationary position, it happens when ever I parallel park or whenever I reverse out of my inclined drive way, stop, and turn the steering wheel.
Ill try that, but i was hopin someone had the same issue with what Im dealing with and could provide me with a quick answer.

Dude i'm pretty sure your car is slammed so your tires are scrapping the tire walls.
Simple solution : Get your fenders rolled it costs 25 bucks for the front.
Hope you fix your problem bro!
Peace, Jma
Need more info about exactly when you hear the noise.
Is the noise there if turning the steering wheel from center, or is it there only at the far left or right, [steering stop]?
As has been mentioned, you will need to locate exactly where noise is coming from, will probably take two people. 94

If it's the tires rubbing, you'll see evidence of such in the wheel wells. For (pretty much) anything else, you will need to isolate the location of the noise before any of us can try and help.
