Took it to work this morning and on my lunch break went to start it and it did but then shut off in 1st so I tried firing it back up several times and nothing so I tried a different dizzy cause there's no spark and still nothing all fuses r fine all connections look fine too and I can't check codes cause the clusters busted. What else should I look out for?

I have an extra ecu and main relay @ home ill hve my bro bring it when he comes to pick me up @ work its weird that it just shut off. I just hope its not another wiring problem. I've been having them since my mpfi conversion in september. Ill sell this bitch I swear

 

Yeah... I feel ya.
I drive a lot of ole honda/acura.
I can't even tell you so many times its electrical problems. With age, wveather, and stupid rodents....the wires gives-in.
I always have a service manual laying around. Then I just go with the flowchart in the troubleshooting section. Normally it works out. Sometimes its those out-of-the-ordinary.

How exactly did you confirm that there is no spark? Do you know how to test if the fuel pump is receiving power? Did you listen for the main relay to click when you turned the key to the on position (or is it II on the cylinder)?

had that same problem ..it was my main relay under coin box.my **** gave out power in all gears when i downshifted from 5th on the frwy.
it only canked but never turned over..

I put on a good like new relay and still nothing. I can usually here the pump when I click the key but not right now. Yea I check for spark with a screwdriver lol.

 

Is the CEL coming on for a few seconds and then turning off when you switch to ON?

 

It dont work @ all. 3wks ago the battery terminal came loose and fried my ecu, key switch, cluster, and fuse box and some fuses under the dash. got it all fixed and then this past monday after work the wire harness dizzy plug came off and put me in limp mode for a week till clipsed came down thursday and found that loose wire so then it was koo all wknd i drove it all wknd long till this morning when i went for my lunch break. Some lights on the cluster work except for the CEL its strange. The only way to check the codes is with a test gun through the jumper harness.

 

wen i had a 4dr eg my car shut off on me, the keyway on da cam gear snapd(dont ask cuz i dont kno how) so wen i cranked, my cam wasnt turnin so it wasnt turnin my dizzy so i wasnt gettin no spark.

for the fuel pump, i dont kno wat to say about dat. check an see if your wire harness is plugged in all the way.

 

Yea all my wire's on the harness r fine I noticed spark but I don't hear my pump dude.

 

...just check the fuel pressure. That way you know fuel is coming in.

The reason is, sometime even though you hear the fuel pump buzzing, the fuel pump is bad and not supplying enough fuel.

That's insane! ... learned something new today

 

Haha that is crazy I never thought bout the key braking loose but **** happens. Ill check the fuel pressure tomorrow when I get to the yard @ work

 

I had this problem a few times,
1) 1989 Honda CRX HF, motor will crank but no fire, it was the igniter, I replaced it and it was good
2) 1988 honda civic DX, same thing, no fire, took off the distributor cap, and the screw for the rotor came off, put the screw back and it was good
3) 1993 Honda civic EX (D16Z6) almost the same issue, I start the car, motor won't stay on idle and dies out, replace. Distributor, cap, and rotor, working fine now

 

K so had my buddys check my ride. I'm getting fuel just no spark and I tried another dizzy. I'm gonna try 1 more other dizzy and go from there. My relays r good and all fuses good too.

 

ok. if not u might wanna check the fuel pump to see if you have enough power from it.

and if you get it working, for sure let us kno that way if we have the same problem in the future we can do the same thing.

Ok hheres the update= clipsed (a member here) came down 2day and found a burned fuse under the hood which has to do with my relay and fuel pump. So I was right on not getting any fuel the 1st time. Then we switched it out with the right size 20 cause it had a 15 (no wonder it blew and shut off) and still no CEL so I took my cluster out and clipsed moved a few bulbs around (didn't know they were replacable) and whala CEL worked. Carstill didn't start cause my jumper harness looks like a rats nest so he got his homemade jumper hooked it up and car started. He is now making me a clean harness **** those zerg industries onesdamn wires come loose.

 

Also I wasn't getting any spark cause of my cheap jumper harness. But problem solved
