Default Seats

I'm wanting to put in new racing seats, but looking for ones that will bolt right onto the current rails in my 2000 GS. Don't wanna spend big bucks, but looking for something that looks decent and comfortable. Any suggestions?

No aftermarket seats fit OEM non-Recaro rails.

Cheapish and comfortable? I guess a corbeau fx1, but you will still need sliders. The seat is around $275 and sliders are $94 a piece.

What OEM Honda/Acura seats fit a 99? Just curious about the newer models such as rsx, s2000, etc so it is still kind of a type of upgrade?

S2000 seats will fit if you swap the seat pans which is easy to do and well documented. However, they are on the expensive side.

RSX, 2006+ Si, and EP3 Si seats will not fit without custom fabrication/welding.

IMO the best inexpensive OEM seat swap are Del Sol seats.

I need to do this, but I seek additional head room for helmet clearance. Aftermarket rails are a must there.

Same here. It's only a matter of time before I have a permanent helmet dent in the ceiling...

Thanks, a little clarity in the hunt...

The oem direction is to keep with the black leather theme in the interior and hopefully minimize on labor/fab with the swap/upgrade.

you have the model wrong...think anyway based on intent

the fx1 is a fixed light race seat

the cr1 is the street/strip recliner seat

a set of used cr1s with rails is worth about 750 mint used or around 500 with scuffs but not falling apart, basically DD seats

I would say S2k seats are your best bet then. The leather doesn't exactly match but its not bad. I had them in my EM1 and really liked how they felt. You get the added support and comfort of the S2k seats with the function of the OEM seats since you swap the pans out. I just got tired of leather after a while.
