Default Smallest radiator with turbo setup - Thermostat?

Last time I had my crx on the road it was overheating without boost. Was told to drill small holes in the thermostat to slighly increase coolant flow.
Currently running the largest fan that will fit on the radiator.
Full-race radiator T4 turbo.
Pics or suggestions.

I put a electric water pump and a gutted thermostat and a 24lb radiator cap.

So you have about a gallon or less of coolant trying to keep a street car cool?

How much airflow are you getting to the radiator? Is your intercooler blocking a lot of it?

For the most part no. Unless you go with a smaller/shorter intercooler or you can figure out a way to route fresh air to the radiator. Heat wrap, coolant additives, and shimming the hood might help with under hood temps, but unless the radiator sees cooler air, it's not going to be able to keep temps low.

My car will over heat also, only after driving about 20 mins with very little boost randomly used? ( just did headgasket, arp studs due to bad head gasket ), i was thinking of trying a 170 degree themostat. Should i opt for that and possibly a better cap? btw my intercooler is blocking also hmmmmm 1 thing i cant stand is a overheating car

drill out the T-stat then i would wire up a fan switch to run the fan all the time....run wetter water and change your coolant.

is your fan pushing or pulling?

i had cooling issues in the hot florida sun..

I went with the bullshit 12" Mishimoto fans, fan shrouds, etc..

I finally broke down and slapped down 80 bucks for this

Mount this up and your cooling issues will be gone!

I haven't had any problems with my Mishimoto setup. I have the half-sized radiator, fan, shroud, and cap with the temp gauge. We even hot lapped it on the dyno when it was getting tuned with no issues. Then again, I have no thermostat.

I don't have pics but I have this vid where you can kind of see it.

Anyone using an oem setup with a slim fan? I have been using an oem Honda dual core, half size radiator with oem cap, oem hoses, oem thermostat, oem waterpump and a Spal slim fan on a turbo H22A - even on hot days with hard driving and stop go traffic, heat gauge never touches the halfway mark... make sure you have bled the cooling system correctly as well...

True, since honda temp gauges are so accurate.

What's overheating to you? What is your water temp getting up to?

With a 10"x14" radiator and 10" fan there isn't much you can do.

Get a E-water pump and a 24lb cap with a gutted thermostat and hope that works.

You need a better fan and fan shroud. I am running a generic alumnium 92-95 civic radiator with a 12" spal and a custom shroud, stock t-stat, water pump, fan switch and radiator cap. I was doing 20-30 minute sessions on a road course in 95-100 degree texas heat. My temps didn't go past 220.

Shorty manifold, 50 trim t3/t4, 305hp, intercooler covering all of the front air dam and stock hood.
