I am trading out my B16a Sir I for an OBD1 GSR. I am having a real issue putting the GSR in though... I am concerned on the rear moun, or really, the bracket that hooks the motor and mount together. Is this bracket the same exact one I had on the B16a? Aren't they all the same on B-series? I just can't seem to get the motor pushed back far enough to get the driver's side mount lined up. The bracket is hitting the rear crossmember not allowing the motor to go back all the way. It also seems like the bracket and mount are not going to line up to the bolt holes on the crossmember, they look about an inch too far toward the driver side on the crossmember. I have the mount and bracket completely loose for maximum playability. Please help me out and give me some tips and pointers on what to do. Is the GSR physically bigger than a B16a? It sure seems like it... I need some input from someone that has done this before. Thanks in advance.

BTW... I kno this all probably sounds crazy cuz I had a B-series in it b4, but I'm really frustrated and tired and was just thinking of a few things. Hopefully I was just having a bad day/night and it will go smoother 2morrow. I'd still like the input to verify whats correct.

 

Brackets are the same, you must have something else binding up in there.

I'm back at my first issue.... I've got the trans mount bolted in, and the driver's side mount is about a half an inch from getting the main bolt through the bracket. but the rear mount doesn't seem to be matching up at all. It's about 2 inches too far to the driver's side. The motor isn't binding on anything, it just doesnt want to fit... ?

 

I feel like I'm talkin to myself here.... but oh well.

The bracket I was using was for the integra. It was the one that came with the GSR but the guy had it in an eg. I didn't swap it for the civic bracket I had on the B16. I just saw it there and thought it would work. Stupid me.
