my speedometer doesnt work but my rpm and other gauges do work...i hav calld a local honda place and they told me it was a bad speed sensor and tht it would cost $250 or more to fix this...does this sound rite and if so would it be an easy fix or would it be best to take it to them?

 

Could be vss, could be a bad speedo. Any stored codes (17 for example). Is it stuck at zero or something around 20 mph.

You can test it. If you just got done with the ign switch, testing replacing the vss is that much more....PIA to get to but not that bad.

 

I agree with poor man. Check for codes. It's much easier to know what's wrong before replacing a bunch of parts and you still have problems. Good luck.
