HELP/ADVICE 95 PRELUDE QUESTION
im looking at getting a daily driver. i found a 95 prelude on craigslist with 120k on it for $950... problem- timing belt broke. owner has no idea how much damage it caused. i asked if he had done a leak down test or compression or anything and he said no. he hasnt looked at it since and no one else has. if the valves are bent then im going to walk away but without towing it to a shop is there anyway i can gauge if its worth picking up or not? i just know that if for some reason this was the 1/100 that the engine is fine its a steal. any suggestions?
950 seems cheap for the shell alone if it's in good condition.
i assume it's the vtec model?
put on a new belt, set timing, and start it up and maybe you'll get lucky.
worse case buy an h22 with low miles and swap it in. you'll already have the ecu/tranny so it would still be a good deal.
