Icon2 My 1990 Prelude won't start... can you help?

Hi folks,

I have a 1990 Prelude (2.01 Si, I think). It recently began giving me trouble starting. The alternator and battery are less than a year old, though I suppose it could still be those things.

When I turn the key on, I get the dash lights but when I turn the key forward to start it, it won't turn over.

Luckily, it's a 5-speed and I can push-start it, but you can imagine that me being a 270 pound dude pushing a car through the WalMart parking lot can get rather embarrassing...

Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks, Rich

Check your battery and cables for corrosion. Check your connections at the starter. The starter could be going too.

Being a 90, you could have problems with your ignition switch itself too.
