h22 head on a f22b1
I am trying to do this is as well. Trying to get some feedback from people.
I have a 2001 prelude head and I am not sure what engine it is from. I am trying to put it on a 95 accord f22b1 block. So far I know the f22 intake manifold doesn't bolt up to the head. It is totally different. I got a bare h22 intake manifold with my head, I need certain parts. I know the f22b1 throttle body will work with the h22 intake manifold, also the egr valve. The f22 fuel injectors do not fit, so i don't think the fuel rail will work either. I also need to get the IACV for the h22 manifold. Im contemplating wether or not to get a 2001 valve which is obd2 or to get a 95 valve (obd1) I do not know if they bolt up the same or not.
I know the f22 exhaust manifold does not bolt to the h22 head. I am pretty sure the prelude headers will work on my accord but I am not sure. The h22 head has 8 oil return channels and the f22 block only has 6. Everything looks like it will match up fine except 2 of the channels on the head need to be blocked off. I need to figure out the BEST way to do this. Also I have heard that this build leaks alot of oil regardless of what you do and I need to figure out some strategies to minimize this as much as possible. I am pretty sure that I will need to use the h22 head gasket. I will probably use the gasket to mark the holes on the f22 block and hone them out somehow for a better match.
I heard something about needing to use the h22 crankshaft pulley for the timing belt to fit? Also, the h22 water pump pulley is different but apparently you can't just buy a h22 water pump and slap it on the f22 because it won't fit. So I heard of somebody taking off the pulley from a h22 water pump and pressing it onto a f22 water pump. I don't know where I heard/read this or if it is even accurate. If this IS TRUE then I wonder how complicated this is to do.
This is a very complicated build and I know it is not going to be easy but I have no other choice. I had swapped out the original 135,000mile f22b1 engine for a much lower mileage f22. After 2 years, I recently hydro-locked the engine and the balance shafts seized up and I blew the rod through the block on cylinder 1. (**** cold air intakes and standing water) My dumb *** was not thinking and when the rod blew it left the piston at TDC and I continued to try to start the engine. Needless to say the valves were bent and I was left with scrap metal from valve cover to oil pan. I sold the original engine to my friend and luckily bought it back, minus the head
... Now I need the car on the road ASAP and somebody was so generous to donate this h22 head to my f22 block and I need LOTS of help if this is ever goin to work efficiently enough to be a daily driver. Somebody help me or point me to someone who can...

If only there was a Accord FAQ...
If only there was H22A1 Head Swap onto a F22B2 Block article in that FAQ...
If only one could use it to ask questions and add to that knowledge base...

What more do you want? People have been doing these swaps for over 10 years now. No need to keep writing the same info in all the H22 swap threads that pop on a daily bassis!
At least you posted your question in the appropriate G23/G22 thread. However, If you feel that you don't have time to read the previously posted info. You will find that members will not take time out of their day to spoon feed you.
