Default 08 civic Si saved from the salvage yard

longs story short i bought this for myself off of copart.com, they sell cars, boats, bikes etc. that insurance companies deemed to be totaled. the car had 29k when i purchased it and was hit in the lt front, heres a list of all the major stuff i replaced.

front cover
lt head light
lt fender
lt front suspension complete
lt front door
and lt side door post
drivers seat air bag
drivers side curtain bag
air bag control unit and of course misc brackets etc.

i didnt cut any corners due to the fact i simply dont do that kind of work and i was keeping the car for myself. im gonna re-tint the front door indows and windshield. i have a lip kit i purchased from ebay im currently prepping for paint. also plan to have the OEM wheels sprayed satin black and do the HFP spring/shocks for now. ill update as progress is made. thanks joe on to pics

heres current photos ive put about 1500 miles on since the repairs were completed. only issue is the TPMS light i need to have the sensor i replaced calibrated

i pulled the bumper off this afternoon to start on my "ebay" lip kit installation. much to my surprise it went much smoother than i imagined. for 45 minutes of my time i think it fits pretty darn good.

you can see where it sorta sags, this is caused by not so poor shipping

after 10 mins under the heat lamp the abs settled right down, i plan to make a few brackets to prevent it from sagging in the future as well

also would like to know, I'm a dealer and deal with copart quite often, I'm guessing around $2500-$3000.

car was purchased for 4850 after the copart fees and broker fees etc. cost of parts were around 3500, i could have saved a lot more on parts by buying used/aftermarket but i purchased a lot of parts new.

Thats still not bad the car looks great and one in that condition would be worth over
14k with that mileage.

so how does the site work? is it like alot of these other ripoff bidding sites, where you have to purchase bids, or whats the catch? it also says you have to have special licenses to even obtain a car from these people. a month ago i tryed that beezit site and i must say that had to have been the biggest ripoff site i have ever dealt with.

you must know someone with a buisness license to rebuild vehicles, or know a brocker who can purchase from them. no b.s. on my deal, won the auction recieved a faxed itemized bill for cost of car, co part fee virtual bid fee etc. went the following day and picked it up. if you contact copart i think they can provide you with a "brocker list" and someone in your area may be willing to help you, FYI they all charge a fee.

its not much of a deal as i know the car was proprely repaired. after i registered it ill have to take it for a state inspection and the car will be issued a rebuilt title. theres all kinds of scams people do to obtain "clean" titiles i was interested in that, i knew what i bought.

I mean if ur planning on keeping the vehicle. Spending 8-9k on a civic with that mileage is def a good deal. I'm jelly. Lol

quick lunch break update. i set the bumper on the car to check fitment around exhaust and just to see how it was gonna look. ill have to modify the supplied brackets to bring the lip up about 1/4" - 1/12" for exhaust cleareance. or look into a HFP muffler that has the round tip, ive been kicking the idea around so i may just pick one up. on to the pics
