Dash lights stay lit after removing key
Hey guys, I have a 1998 integra. When I take my key out sometimes the cluster and my gauges (clock removed and quadpod in its place with gauges hooked up to clock wiring) both stay lit with key removed. Now at first I thought it was my alarm/remote start acting up so I removed the remote start wiring since I never use it, to eliminate that as an option. The only thing left connected is the starter kill. What could it possibly be? I haven't touched any wiring for awhile before this started happening. Besides for the cluster backlight, the oil pressure, and battery lights stay lit also.
-When this happens ign1 (black/yellow) is showing voltage.
-If i remove the large green plug by the fusebox, this shuts them off.
Sorry for a long post and thanks.

Depin the black/yellow so you can see if power is on it from the ign. switch or if it is back-feeding from someplace else.
Is #85 or #86 on starter cut relay getting power from ign. 1, [black/yellow]? 94

When i depinned that wire it is showing that the voltage is coming from the fusebox side and not from the ignition switch.
My car was auto and i swapped to manual. Helms says starter cut relay is only in manual car. I have 2 relays in that location near the main relay. One according to helms is the moonroof relay. The other I am not sure of. Helms doesnt mention it.
It has a
Thick white/green
Thick black/white (starter)?
Thin Blue/yellow
Thin Black/Blue
And only the white/green was showing voltage which i believe is a constant 12v anyway.
I also disconnected the distributor harness and tested the black/yellow. The voltage is coming from the engine harness side. Not from the distributor side. Not sure if this information helps at all.

You said you removed the remote start wiring and, "The only thing left connected is the starter kill." that is the starter kill I am talking about.
Both auto and 5 speed Integra had OEM starter cut relays if car had OEM security, the auto did not have a starter relay like the auto, it used the A/T gear position switch, [neutral safety switch] instead of the 5 speeds CIS and starter relay.
when you made the swap, [auto to manual] did you install the CIS and a starter relay or did you just jump the black/whites at the A/T gear position switch plug? 94

The starter kill that remains is hooked up to remote start wired inline to the black/white and when you lock cuts that wire and when you unlock it renews the connection. There is no voltage in that wire when not turning the key to start.
When i made the auto to manual swap i just connected two wires at the gear switch plug. Black/white and Black/red.

Then the problem must be someplace else in the wiring harness, either the engine harness or dash harness, or more likely a component/module as it is an intermittent problem triggered by turning on the ign. 94
Do you have any idea on how i might be able to trace this or any troubleshooting methods that might get me to the source of this problem?
Edit: I also just noticed if i unplug the main relay it will go out. Could it be the main relay causing these issues?
