Default I've owned my AP1 for nearly a month now...

I posted a few weeks ago asking some questions about an S2000 I went and test drove concerning it not wanting to drive straight. Well at the time I did not realize it had different tires on each corner, so that answered my question (other than the obvious that it needed to be aligned).

This thing definitely needs some work and it will get done slowly but surely. I could just not bring myself to pass it up because it was such a steal. The motor is strong, clutch has plenty of life, and transmission is great.

Plans are to:
-Get all body work done and have the whole car resprayed
-Put 4 new MATCHING tires on (thinking ADVAN Neova Ad08) paint rough stock wheels
-Fix interior (someone took some sharp object to both seats)

It's not pretty the way it is now, but like I said it was a steal for the amount of work it needs. It still drives great so I figured it was a good project. Something I can still enjoy while I improve. As updates are made I will post pictures.

You have a nice project there that shouldn't be too difficult to get it to the way that you want it. Good luck with her

Thank you. I do like the red but am having a hard time picking wheels to go with it. Red's a tough color to match wheels with especially with the black top. I don't want to do black wheels. White would be my first choice but when I have it resprayed I will just go with the original color so it looks clean all the way around (engine compartment specifically). Don't want white exterior and red compartment.

Yeah I bought the car from a friend who said "I think some crazy braud did it but I'm not sure". I'll never understand taking your frustrations out on a car.

I don't drive the car every day. There are a lot of back roads where I live and I pretty much just cruise with the car. I drive my Si everyday. You think Ad08's would be a bad idea for even that?

From what I've read so far people have been getting 10-12k miles from them with street driving. I think that's pretty good for a max performance tire. Especially since I'll be putting less than that on the car in a year.

+1, mainly cause rs3s are on national back order.

Also, you don't need "sticky" tires to go driving around on the streets.

You should see the roads I have around here. I'm not cruising around in this car hard parking it. I'm ripping up some incredible back roads. The TRZ which is a solid tire doesn't even stick in my Si the way I drive these roads sometimes.

Congrats on the car. It's always great when car goes to a owner that will give it the TLC it deserves.

Got me a set of Z1Stars at the moment too. I don't bother pushing past the occasional howl even though I know I'm only approaching the limit of steering with steering (as opposed to beginning to rely on throttle steering), too sticky to push the limits of the tire on the streets IMO.

So how much did you get it for, if you don't mind my asking? You say it was a steal, but I know someone else who got a "steal"...poor guy got raped. I'm just curious what a person can pick a car in this condition up for.

Overall it looks like the damage is pretty minimal. I have a friend who just got some Katzkin leathers, so he might sell you his old ones if you're interested in some that don't have slashes in them. They're black.

Just to show the S2000 community I'm attempting to make some progress at fixing...well making it less of an eye sore for now I wanted to show what I've been up to the last couple days. Only two pictures from day one for now, I should have this done by Monday evening and will post the final product then.

THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY. IT WILL BE FIXED PROPERLY BY A PREFESSIONIAL ONCE I HAVE THE FUNDS.

I pulled the fender out a bit more since this picture and it looks a lot better. Tonight I put on a couple layers of bondo to try to smooth it out a bit. I know it's not ideal, but it is better than the previously smashed in rusted mess that did exist.

I appreciate the heads up on the parts guys but am focusing strictly on the body for now. College has my funds limited for the repairs I can make on this thing One thing at a time for now. I put the first layer of bondo on the fender but was way too busy over the weekend to finish it. As I said before it will not be perfect but will look much better than it did. Tomorrow it will be finished! Well, the fender will not be a smashed in mess anymore.

I finished the body work tonight and am happy with the turn out for only having 30 dollars in it. Here are all the pictures from beginning to end.

When I started

Let me know what you think. Keep in mind this is the only body work I have ever done on a car and I only had 30 dollars into the project. It is only temporary, it will be fixed properly in due time. Constructive criticism is always welcome though!
