Exedy HF501 flywheel not engaging starter
Just threw in exedy stage 1 clutch, and lightweight flywheel. Everytime i start the car now theres a loud whine. Then i noticed that the teeth on my old flywheel and the teeth on the exedy flywheel were completely different. Anyone have this issue?
different tooth count and diameter

Yep, how'd you know, not the bisimoto one on the left though.
I found another solution perhaps. Are you having this same problem

Ahh I know now,
gripforce sells fake products
I spoke with exedy over the phone, they told me they sell real clutches but the flywheel is fake
Tey requested ppictures to see if it's authentic. If it is indeed fake I'm going to get my money back
wow I never knew that. I'm actually in the market for a clutch kit too. thanks for the heads up
the clutch is good, it's the flywheel that's bad. I removed that one and put in my BISIMOTO one, thing is a dream
The exedy shows where the starter was hitting.
I will ost pics so everyone will know to steer clear of exedy flyweels and opt for the fidanza or bisi flys
