Default New to this jdm scene

As the title states I'm new to this whole jdm scene. I'm not completely clueless, but I do need some help in figuring out how to make my car faster.

I'm currently driving a 98 4 door Honda civic, automatic. It's a 4 speed stock d15b motor. Pushing a measly 106hp -___-.

My friends reccomemd I do headers/intake/exhaust. But I was wondering which brands should I buy? I don't have an abundance of cash, just keep that in mind.

I'm interested in jasma headers, I know they aren't a performance company, just the CARB version of japan. I'm also interested in getting an es tuning exhaust. Any info on the above items would be great

If this is in the wrong forum, please don't hate me lol.

Thanks for all the help in advance!

Intake header and exhaust is pointless and a waste of money. Typically the people who do I/H/E are a joke (also known as "hard parkers" "ricers" etc..). Save your money and do a swap to a motor worthy of buying parts for in the first place.
Let me help you look at it from another point of view....you purchase intake header and exhaust and if your lucky make another 10 horsepower at the wheels....big whoopty do your now about 0.1 seconds faster in the quarter mile.

I've read up on motor swap and from the looks of it, it seems that I'll have to convert to stick shift because of the size of the motors. are there any decents motors faster then 106hp? automatic ones at that.

why would you want a automatic, Save up a bunch of money and buy a k20/k24 or a b18c5 and have someone install it for ya. Youll be making 170+hp with a header/ intake and exhuast which you would need with any of the swaps. Everyone would agree with me on this.

then stop wasting your time and ours posting because if your not going to do a swap its pointless....your car will always be a slow pos with that motor or any other automatic honda makes.

At the very least swap a b16 in, but otherwise see the above ^^^

Just save up and buy a car with a swap already in it. There are quite a few here for sale that people have done the hard work and just want out. I picked up my latest 96 cx with itr swap and other goodies for $3000. Good deals are out there if you save and wait.

If you don't have money, trying to modify a Honda isn't for you. Simple as that. I would start with doing a manual conversion(not hard or expensive), and then look into a good turbo kit. If you don't have patience, you need to buy something else.
