I don't know objectively. I didn't seem like they torque on those bolts is so high that heli-coils wouldn't work.

The three bolts are 10mm with 1.25mm thread pitch - torqued to 29ft-lbs. Doesn't seem like you're going to rip out a coil that large in diameter with only 29ft-lbs.

OTOH, what choice do you have? It's *way* cheaper than a new block...

As for doing this in-vehicle, perhaps. I'd check with a local machine shop - they love to talk... who knows, a cold-one may go a long way!

yea, u r correct abt the bolts but im thinkin to get the motor remove and let it stand on straight vertically which i could try to re tap and insert heli-coils to fixed the thread...

if i would go to the local machine shop and will cost me more $$ on labor, so im not sure yet

i dislike the 3 hex bolts on the block for half shaft because they r not really strong enough

best way is to remove the motor and re tap evenly??

They make a jig for hand drills that hold them square to the surface being drilled, which might work if the surface of the block is flat there (don't recall).
