Default box in the back of b series engines...

Whats up Ht..
i gotta quick question for you guys..
does anybody know what the black or crome box
is in the back of the B series engines.. some of the boxe's
have 2 wholes and some have 1 i bought a b18b1 swap and i can tell
that there were hoses coming from it but idk what the were for nd were they go
nd i wanted to know if that box was truly important to how my engine is gonna run and if
my check engine light will be on if these hoses are not connected from the box to the engine..

if it's that breather box, one goes to the
block and one to the PCV valve
which in turn goes to the
intake manifold.

lol... thank you mikesrex.. and i didnt post this one my friend posted it for me but i got the answer..

nd do i really need the box or can i take it off and just connect a hose from the pcv valve to the block?

i would think the box helps keep oil from getting to the intake, as this box has baffles in it

yea i seen that.. and i looked in my manual and it only showed one hose connected and the other whole was just open.. bu then i tried to unscrew the box today and its actually connect to the case.. soo idk im pretty sure im just gonna leave it..
