Default civic battery light stays on...

I just got my 88 civic running again, and now the battery light stays on. Before the light was coming on, I had replaced the distributor, main relay, battery. I started the car, no problems. Drove the car a short distance and then the battery light came on. I would turn the car off hoping it was just a code from things being replaced, but it still comes on. I havent tried to drive it a long distance out of fear of damaging something. Any help is appreciated.

check your charging system, make sure the power wire from your alternator to your fuse box is hooked up, check the alternator fuse, make sure there's a belt on your alternator, and if nothing else works have your alternator tested to see if it works

The battery light, contrary to yuppie belief, is strictly a charging system (alternator) idiot light. Like posted above, check the charging system out. Everything you messed with has nothing to do with the battery light - and the battery light throws NO codes... It's either on or it's not.
