Default Can drum brakes warp? general drum brake questions

Can drum brakes warp? I mean like a rotor, but can brake drums warp?

Im having an issue with my drum rear brakes. I changed drum/and shoes in nov/december of last year and everything was perfect.

In the last 2 weeks or so....Im getting a ton of noise from the rear end. I thought the noise was a wheel bearing/hub...but I changed those, and Im still getting a noise.

The noise gets louder when I tighten up the brakes. I thought- tighter brakes/hold the drum tighter to the wheel, and it would get rid of the noise....

tighter brakes = louder clunking noise.

Loosen them up (all the way out) and the noise is still there, but much much less then when they are tight.

With the rear tires off, and me spinning the drum it sounds like there is a low spot....almost like the drum warped and isn't making contact at a certain point. which would make sense in relation to the noise....because I hear the noise come and go...

Usually by the hour, call and ask. My local machine shop that does this sort of work charges $60/hr iirc, and no less than $30.

thats what I figured...

I just checked with advance auto.. warranty = 90 days... just great.

NEVER EVERY BUY any part they sell thats the cheapest...

Isnt worth crap, if I wouldve spent 10 more then...I would have a 2 year warranty.

when I worked at a shop I got in the habbit of putting new drums on the lathe and checking them. Very often most of them needed a little truing done before being put on the car. The cheep ones were of course the worst as far as being true out of the box. WHEN IT COMES TO BRAKES YOU REALLY DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
