if a user contacts you via PM to conduct a transaction, especially a new user, proceed with caution.

there is a party in Georgia who is scamming members via Paypal. i can't give too many details for the sake of investigation but beware.

if anything seems off, or resembles this sort of thing, just move on with a more secure transaction partner.

sorry guys, there really is no more info that would be of use to you - it's a bunch of screen names that have been banned and could be more. it's just a general warning at this point.

if i were you, i'd avoid new users who are communicating mostly via PM. that's my opinion of it. honda-tech takes a hands off approach to the marketplace. it's basically use at your own risk, do your e-research on people, etc., as we can't be ebay and don't have such an infrastructure, but i'm going out on a limb, personally, and putting this warning out there.

Not only new users but people from canada as well, i have seen wayy to many people get scammed from people in canada including myself, just be smart about ur transactions

Two people with zero post have tried to contact me one of them was trying to sell me recaro seats from florida and the other one was selling nrg quick releases. I think they are fishing on the wtb threads and contacting people seeing if they are dumb enough to do it

 

mother ****** wreak it for us good one's though if your buying parts of here what i do for my people is take random pics with the parts. for example ask for a pic of the part your after OFF the car with a bit of papper in frount of it saying whatever you want it to say then atleast you know this persons going to alot of trouble to make sure your at ease with the trade.scammers won't go to such great leanths as there after the quick buck....just a thought

Make it where you have to have your screen name and date on a paper in front of the pics you post.

is this that "tyler" idiot in georgia? He cantacted me through pm and wanted to sell me a backyard special kevlar spoiler and lip for 700$. I didnt go through with it, but i know he got some a couple of guys with that scam.

 

he's one of them, yes. taylor, tyler...whatever, yep. there is a sales feedback thread about him and he's listed in the scammer thread.

X2 on establishing a rule on pic only with your screen name and date with something honda tech related. I know on some of the forums I been on if you bought an item from a seller and he didn't update the page you would go and let everyone know you bought it and transaction is in works. A lot if work but helps other from getting scam buy same seller.

 

why the hell not? Much more safer than a direct deposit. At least for itl transactions, at least with paypal or moneybookers or other stuff you can actually dispute if youre scammed or somenthing. But that's just my opnion

I also had someone recently offer to sell me parts I have a WTB thread up for. I didn't even bother to reply. 0 posts? No way.

I wish they still had trial membership enacted where it meant something.
