Default lsvtec timing issue

so i got this car by trade so i didnt build this motor ( gsr head, b18 bottom end) and it wasnt running when i got it because the timing belt slipped on one of the cams, Ive started pulling it apart to try putting a new belt on with fingers crossed that nothing got bent and it wont go to tdc on the crank, it just stops no matter where you have the cams set at, Ive included pictures your imput on how to proceed would be great? I dont want to tear off the head yet either by the way is has skunk 2 stage 2 cams if that helps .

also the cams will go to tdc, I checked the distributor and every thing checks out, Ive also chased the the crank by turning the cams and it seems to get stuck right when the number 1 and 4 piston come to almost tdc, i found some very small flakes of what looks metal in the number 4 piston but nothing even close to blocking the piston from turning.

how do the spark plugs look? any damage on them? It sounds to me like you have some bent valve(s) or a head that broke off a valve that's causing it to jam at TDC. Any kind of physical resistance when tuning over a motor like that isn't usually good. For the sake of a few dollars, you're better off taking the head off and seeing what happened or running the risk of losing the whole motor which is worth more than a few dollars.
