Icon2 92 accord lx AT vibration at shift points

Let me start off by saying thank you for this wonderful site. I was able to fix a starting problem by searching the forum (had a bad main relay.) I have searched for my current problem but have been unable to find my exact issues.

92 Honda Accord LX 2.2L Automatic 266XXX miles

My car vibrates (it is a deep vibration that you can feel through the whole car) at the shift points when holding at constant speeds. When it first started it was only doing it at 30-35mph. Now it does it at all shift points but only when you are driving at those speeds at a constant speed. The best way I can think to describe it is that it is like it doesn't know whether it should downshift or not. If you either give it just a little more pedal, or let off the pedal, it instantly stops. I don't even have to change the throttle enough to really change my speed, I just have to change it.

I plan to do a trans fluid change tomorrow or the next day as I am due for one and to see if that helps. If it doesn't, I am leaning toward EGR valve from what I found in my searches. Is this a good place to go next? While I was having the earlier mentioned starting problem I got a code 12 (EGR system.) I dismissed it because it was unrelated to the starting problem.

Things I have replaced over the years since buying the car 9 years ago...
(I know some of these things are unrelated but the more you know the more likely you'll be able to help )

distributor
both front half axles
front wheel bearings
radiator
master cylinder
main relay
normal wear and tear items (hoses, tune-up items)

Thanks in advance for any help or insight

Trans fluid change is cheap and something that should be done anyways.

Is there an RPM range this seems to happen?

It does seem to happen around 1800-2200 rpm. I changed the trans fluid and though I did have a little more clutch material than I would have liked to have seen on the plug, it wasn't that bad. It didn't improve the vibration though.

I did a test drive and did notice that I couldn't make it vibrate until I had driven a while and got it up to temp. As soon as it did get up to temp it was doing it just as bad as before. Pretty sure it is EGR valve ports clogged up. Won't be able to do anything about it until next week, but will update and let u know if it works.

Any other ideas?

Exactly where/why I asked about the rpm range, kind of where I was thinking the issue was. After the cleaning, if it is still there let us know, a few more possidble issues.

Check the throttle control cable for propoer adjustment.

Thanks for the quick relpy. I plan to do it Wednesday cause I wanted to wait till my hubby and Dad were both off work to help me. Didn't really want to tackle this one by myself Dad is a retired mechanic and will mostly be there for supervision and moral support. He is pushing for me to do a EGR block and I am really considering it. We don't have emissions testing in my area and if it came to it I could always unblock it and do the proper cleaning. He doesn't want to clean the ports without cleaning the entire intake and I understand why, but that would be a pain in the A$$. I'll still update on the outcome.
