1990 crx hf with built b18a1 msd ign. Really hard start surging idle
Hello, I just bought a CRX hf and It has a b18a1 built for a turbo running on a stock computer msd 6a and if I haven't started it in awhile and it's cold it starts very very hard and the. It sputters super hard for 30 seconds then it has the Honda 2000 surge then it going into hunting idle 1000 to 1500. But once and awhile if I let it idle for a long time it settles down at about 1200, but once and awhile it idles down at 7 to 800. But I can't figure it out I heard from so many people that you don't need to run the charcoal canister but that's the only I know how to make it run ok. Or it idles at 2000 when there not. Idk what to do I need help!!!!!! Anybody any ideas??? Oh engine fresh rebuild supposedly.
is it only when its cold?

Yea runs great and when I got it it didn't have coolant or a thermostat and do you know a good way to hook up the vac lines without the canister and cut off valves? Cuz without them idles at 2000?
Is there aresaon why you dont want to run the canister? I had this issue with my b16 when i swapped it...I had the canister hooked up but one a couple of the vac lines were mixed up... check a vac line diagram

are you running the canister that came on the car or a diff one cuz mine has lines running to it that go to a thing that is stamped pm5 cuz thats my old ecu code

Thats what I'm tryin to say I just dont get it but when I rev up at 4500 rpm it stutters just for a sec then it's like it takes off in a second power band and it's the right ecu but no I do not have the stock engine I bought the car two months ago... Wire tuck the guy I bought the car from was a total ****ing moron and I shouldn't have bought it but.... Where does the bottem of the canister go and can I delete it and did you see the cut off valve setup in the plug? I just don't know maybe timing?
agreed but everything is going to the right place and the little vaccumm thing for the throddle how the fu** is that suppossed to work? nd why does it start so fkn hard cold?
I got the surgeonfish idle problem worked out but I still cannot figure out why it starts so unbelievably hard and runs with a really hard miss until it warms up a little bit... Anyone I need help!!!!
