my friend has mistreated his 06 rsx 5-spd after installing an ebay radiator, ran the engine with no coolant for some time cause a flashing cel and now wont start. i tested the engine and has a blown head gasket. the car is currently at acura waiting to have an oem radiator installed and the engine repaired. of course the head will need to be resurfaced. i havent heard of anyone having this happen at 70k miles, but this vehicle has seen speeds over 140mph. i am familiar with modern honda engines and im a technician but havent seen such disregard to one of this nature. so my question is how long is the life expectancy of this base rsx engine that has gone through this repair, so we can decide whether to upgrade or rebuild. keep in mind this is a daily driver and owner doesnt care about high performance. ive given him my advice, but id like more insight.
