94 civic sedan - A/C doesn't work
i got a 94 eg 4 door as one of my DD and i've been driving around without AC (didn't have the tensioner pulley) so i found the pulley assembly finally and added frion well the clutch wouldn't engage on the compressor so i disconnected it and temporaraly ran a wire from the plug on the compressor to the positive side of the battery (just to engage the clutch to add frion) it blew cold as hell btw but obviously i can't keep the wire hooked up that way permanantly so i know it has to do with the plug or something my question is what and where does that one pluge actuallly go to?? i searched but don't understand the wiring diagrams at all so any help would be appreciated
yes system was empty and i had a gauge to show me how much i was adding and the previous owner ran the condensor fan to the actual cooling fan so now it's always on....i just have no clue what else to look for?????
An empty system has generally filled with air. In this case, you need to add some refrigerant containing a leak detecting dye in order to pinpoint the leak location. Then recover the refrigerant, fix the leak, replace the receiver/dryer, deep vacuum the system for at least 2 hours, make sure the system holds vacuum (=no more leak), and then recharge with the proper weight of refrigerant and volume of oil. Have a shop do anything you can't.
