I've been searching here and google and would like some help..
I'm looking for the dohc d16zc engine, not to be mistaken for the sohc d16z6 (unless I have that wrong).
Anyways, I've found a few using Google. Jdm engine depot, j-spec auto sports, and tiger Japanese auto parts ltd.
The engines I've found range from $700-$900 plus shipping.
My question for help is this:
Does anyone know of any good engine sites with good vouches?
I know Google doesn't get you every site useful. Would appreciate anyone's 2 cents, none will be ignored.
My plans: I currently own a 1990 civic hatchback and want to have a solid motor without changing the entire bay for over $2000, I have no plans on racing the car in the near future. Looking to put a stronger motor that'll start up daily.
My motor just recently died and I knew of the sohc zc but my roommate introduced me to the dohc zc.
Thanks for any help that's given.
I apologize if I'm repeating an old thread or posting in the wrong section, but I search dohc d16zc and didn't see anything to help me out.

Clean rice means hmotorsonline.com
The dohc zc is basically a 1.6 liter b18b. I'm pretty sure the valvetrain is very similar. But it's all based off dseries architecture if that makes any sense.

JDM Engine Depot out of New Jersey is pretty good. They are known for letting east coast guys hand pick their own motor.
J-Spec Auto Sports out of Virginia is also pretty reputible. I believe an employee was a member on here for a while. I don't remember his name though.
Tiger Japanese...Stay the F*ck away from them. I've hear way more horror stories than good ones. Honestly I don't like dealing with any importer out of canada personally because you don't know what your getting. Many of them don't even impot cars, they just import engines out of the junkyards in Japan and market them as 30k miles to 65k miles regardless of actual mileage.
Above all though I have to recommend www.hmotorsonline.com Probably the best place to get an engine from. Their prices tend to be a bit higher than every where else, but they really do provide the quality and service to justify it. I do know they hand pick cars from Japan to import over for parts and engines.
My first pick on your list of three would be JDM Engine Depot, followed by J-Spec, but again I highly recommend H-Motors above all.
Best of luck with finding an engine.

What he said h motors is great . Dont get me wrong my f20b from tiger ran great but had already had a new timing belt and was nasty as hell . I assure you it had 150,000 miles on it not 30,000.
I would look around for a true si motor out of a crx . That is a very strong single man . I ran mid 14s ten years ago with a si crx motor bored 30 over and freshened up lol. thats pretty strong. I have a buddy that just pulled his si motor out and replaced it with the dohc zc motor he was highly dissapointed . He pulled the zc out and went single vtec turbo . I might could get either of the other motors both ran great . A dohc zc would be easier to get but if you can find a nice si crx motor they run strong.
