clutch breakin/identification question
I recently changed out an old clutch disc on my 91 civic Si w/B16 and YS1 long gear tranny. it has a lightweight flywheel and aftermarket clutch, which i coud not identify what brand either of them were. I believe the flywheel is a Fidanza, but i am still not sure about the clutch pressure plate, it was white.
My question about breaking in the clutch has to do with the fact that I installed a newly broken in clutch disc which has just over 2,500 miles on it in the old pressure plate that was already on the car (not sure how many miles are on it, but it looked to be in good condition...), and I was wondering/thinking about whether or not i would still need to drive softly and baby it and break the clutch in for ~1,500 miles of city driving as if it were a completely new clutch anyways before racing it. I am trying to stay on the safe side and do that, but i'm not for sure if it is an absolute neccessity.
