Default For those who are running 17's...

Before I take the plunge on this set of wheels, I was wondering if some of you fellow ITR owners who are running 17's could post a pic or two of your cars so that I can get a better idea of how they will look on my car. I've searched the pic threads in this section, but can't find anything definitive.

Thanks

there's only one decent street tire even made for them. the falken 615. once that stops the choices will be even more limited. there are tons of 17" integra pics in the picture thread just go WAAAY back

What tire size are you referring to? And these are only street tires for sure. I'll be running slicks or track tires on my stock wheels.

Did you look in the FBP picture thread? I am sure there are a few pictures in there. This topic was beat to death when I had my GSR back in 04.

While I have owned around around 5 sets of the first two generations of 615s, and they are a fantastic tire, the Dunlop Star Specs feel superior to me in every way. There are quite a few choices for performance street tires in the 17" and up size to choose from.

Yeah I keep tabs on the fbp thread because I have one, but especially of recent I can only recall seeing one with 17's and it had the oem lip kit and that doesn't give me that great idea of how it will look seeing that I don't have one on my car.

And as far as tires, I'm probably goin to run the 215-40 s-drives. I have them on both my other cars right now and have no complaints. Good price, good looks, and good performance for basic spirited street use.

Oh gotcha, maybe the Integra forum would have more? I would figure most would have the OEM lip on their R's here.

I have the S drives on my R now. The previous owner put them on and I don't mind them. They seem to be a great tire for daily use. I can't wait to get some Star Specs though

Rays G-Games 17x7 +42 w/ Falken Azenis RT615 215/40/17

I just switched to:

Volk TE37 Super Laps 17x7.5 +40 w/ Dunlop Direzza Star Specs 215/40/17

I was going to go down to 16's but they just wouldn't work with my brakes. I love the TE37's tho. Hope this helps.

Edit: I just saw you said w/o the OEM lip kit. Let me search my pics, I have a few of my car before I installed it.

I've always liked the look of 17" TE's. Trellis had some real clean GM TE's on his back in the day. That being said I run 16's as a happy medium, but don't flame like some do when lightweight forged 17's are run for looks,

Looks like the fronts are 17x8 +35 and the rears are 17x9 +38.

A 17" wheel on a street ITR isn't going to have a very large sidewall, so I hope your wheels are strong ones.

For a street driven ITR, 16" is really the sweet spot.

615s are the best bang for the buck dry season tire I've ever used, I just got rid of my set last month, but they're noisy, suck in all conditions other than hot/dry, and don't last very long (I went through 2 sets from March 2010 to February 2011).
