Where can I get this from? I got my new Thermostat housing case today...and tried to unscrew the old valve...and ended up breaking a vacuum fitting. Found one that appears to be like mine, but it has 3 hose connections not 2.

If anyone has one, Ill buy it...prefer used...cant afford $50.

Be sure you get the right one. They work at different temperatures. You should be able to snag one of those out of any junkyard btw.

 

I will check that...id have to ride a bicycle about 3 miles to get to a junkyard...ack...then again, i gotta do what i gotta do...might need to try pulling the fan temp switch too...i think mine is junk as the cooling fans never shut off.

In the confort of a car or bike?

Problem is...my car is Canadian...or is that not a problem? This valve is the only thing stopping me from putting motor completely back together....

......but amazingly......i put my distributor back on...pumped the gas...and it started right up......so I must be doing something right....for once.

 

I guess I should have specified...I ride ON the bike.

I am also struggling with those thermo valves on my 83 Civic. I am not sure how necessary one or both them are in the 100 degree temperatures here in Houston.

I may not even hook them back up, unless I get drivability issues.

For my 1988 Honda Accord...my OEM part number for the sensor pictured above is...OEM # 17355-PH2-013

If you try interchanging this number....pvs36....youll come up with Part Number: CRB 229088 which is the same as my OEM number. Napa has them...but not spending $75.

If you can't hunt the local bone yards...Humm, the 87 is about to go to the bone yard.......my son stopped, too bad the girl behind him was on her cell...a** end has had it....PM me if you can't find one.

Back in the day, the parts catalogs-the paper ones, had all kinds of spec's so I would find the right spec's for a customer and get them taken care of...might not be the right color but as long as the open/close, temps, ports (size and number), threads were right...call it a day.

...if it is really bad I've seen "redneck" (and I'm one) fixes...super glue's, ect...can get you by.....or loop the lines for time period, when cold the car my run like XXXX, but you have about 4 months before it gets real cold in IA.

 

i called the salvage yard here..all he has is a 93 accord. What you want for yours?

eh Im not worried about it anymore...im letting it goto the junkyard...tired of buying stuff for it...bought the dang thing for $600...and it needs more then that put in just to get it road ready. Most of the bolts are rusted so its making it too hard for me to work on it, because I have to buy power tools...and other tools...I think I will stay away from older hondas.
