Hey guys. Last night I took the car out to take someone for a ride and I did a 2-4 rip, and I ended up blowing off a coupler, but aside from that I have a crazy loud high pitched whining sound and an idle surge, so I am trying ro figure out what it could be. The noise is not the brakes because it is even when the car is still, it is not the alternator because I pulled the belt and it is still there, no ac or ps, it is not the fans because they are constant and it only happens when the motor is running. Could this be the water pump or oil pump? Also I noticed a little noise fron the clutch when pressing the pedal that wasn't there before, and it is a twin disc. The oil press looked fine and so did the vac, and there are no visible or audible leaks, and no cels, but I am way more concerned about the noise so if anyone has any input please share. I could get a video if needed.

Well I haven't torn it apart yet, but it seems like the noise might be the water pump (hopfully) which is fine because I am gutting it anyways and am switching to an electric pump, so fingers crossed that it is infact the pump.
A previous mechanic used carb cleaner spray. it will fill a vac leak temporarily, so you can locate it. and it evaporates quickly with no residue.
