Icon2 Lowering my 99 accord

Hey I was wondering if anyone else has lowered a 6th generation accord and if you have what kinda coilover set up did you use? I'm not looking for completely slammed but I want a good stance. Any suggestions to what brand I should use?

I would do Function & Form Type 1 coilover. Best Bang for the Buck for Accords if you ask me. I plan on getting me a set of these.

Agreed. I wish I had known about these when I lowered my Accord.

I like my Illuminas and H-tech's but the drop is definitely not low enough.

Yup. Same here when I dropped my Accord on Tokico Blues w/ S Tech springs. I like my lowered stance though because I'm not too low nor too high and just perfect for my low clearance Hytech Rep Header.

Yeah, I should have went with S-tech's at the very least. Would have still been very functional for what I have to drive through on occasion, but would sit lower than the H-tech's. I just thought I'd be fine with the 1 inch drop, and considering how many miles the car had on it (almost 200,000), I didn't want to put too much strain on things by lowering it too much.

Of course with what my budget was I could have bought F&F type 1's, but you live and you learn.

Have you thought about a spring/shock combo instead of going coilovers?
You can achieve the same stance.. Unless you plan on adjusting it all the time, which many people don't even do with full coilover systems.. It just depends what you want.. Stiff but firm.. custom spring rates.. smooth like stock, but dropped.. so its depends on what your going to use it for and what you want

accccord-i have gone through am iowan winter on 2 broken front springs (pretty low), and i could get through quite a bit of snow and ditch with my 4 season michelins.

how low can you go until the A arms start to angle up and act funny on bumps?
also, will you need a camber kit?

I have a sedan and I am considering going with the Eibach Pro-kit. I've read you don't have to change the shocks because it's such a subtle drop(1.0 - 1.5 in). You're not going to have 'stance' but I think it's a happy medium between stock and lowered for all weather DD. Let's see pics when you get those coils though , I won't pull the trigger on purchasing anything for at least a month.

edit: just went to the FF website. Those appear to be some damn good coils for the price. They are currently listed at $630.00

I installed KYB struts and H&R-street & sport springs..it lowerd 1" & 1.5"..but car sits level. And its handling is awesome but my suspension up but the smooth ride is no longer there...for sure stiffened it up..I would like to put urethane bushings throughout the rest of my suspension and better sway links..I think my OEM rubber bushings have seen better days...my accord is a 2001 EX..2.3 VTEC & 5 speed..and has 147,440 miles on her & runs like a champ yet..anyhow I'm satisfied with the KYB strut with the H&R springs..not too low...

Hey all I have a 2002 HOnda accord Coupe and am planning to drop it this summer instead of next summer (got screwed over with a huge delay on rims this summer so waiting for next summer) anyways I was thinking Eibach 1.5 front /2" back drop.
I am from Toronto so would this be good enough for the winters anyone here know?
I'll be using stock wheels.
Is it recommended to get a Spring/Shock combo
or just stick with only Lowering Springs?
It has about 147 XXX KM on it now.

Thanks.

go with function and form. either type 1's or type 2's. depends on you, if you want to just lower your accord, then type 1's. if you want a more agressive setup w/ dampening adjustablity, then go with type 2's

I was leaning towards just lowering springs though, Is it necessary to get springs and shock/struts? or can I just manage with Lowering springs only.

Trust me Eibach sucks! you would not see any difference between stock and drop, go withe the Springs 2" all around

Anyone else recommend JUST getting lowering springs and opting for shock/strut later on?

^ save yourself the hassle and extra work; replace both together. if you lower your accord w/ lowering springs on stock struts, they will more than likely wear prematurely and ride like crap
