Purchased a Del Sol but the exhaust is loud as fawk and sounds like shiet :-(

Should I research an off the shelf replacement or piece it together using parts from KTeller or VRS Exhaust?

Apexi WS2 sounds good, but damn its pretty costly...

Opt out for a cheaper exhaust...RS*R sound nice

Or just buy a axle back and peice the piping together

 

the yonaka exhaust is like the offbrand WS2 and I hear its pretty decent

 

easy. kteller/vrs. with some vibrant/magnaflow whatever floats your boat parts and it'll be an awesome exhaust.
mine was still pretty spendy though. 450+. but it sounds awesome.

what spoiler is that btw?

 

I have a full magnaflow exhaust on my Del Sol Vtec and it's kind of loud and around 2800-3300rpm it makes the most horrible rasp I've ever heard. I had a Vibrant Power1 on my GSR and it was also kind of loud, but very deep and no rasp. My ES oval didn't have much rasp but was retarded loud.

 

This is what I was thinking. As far as the spoiler, I don't know as it came on the car when I bought it. I know it's not OEM but it looks good ;-)

 

thats what i did. vrs 2.5 with vibrant high flow and streetpower dual tip(the duals was accident but i actually like it now.) i'd say buy a resonator too. mines ok below about 4k after that its pretty loud.

could be a little bit more flush at the front but other then that i like how it looks.

Anyone have experience with the eBay exhausts? I'd be ditching the muffler in favor of some sort of quiet, chamber style muffler.

98civdx, that is why I would be ditching that muffler and getting a different one. The question is whether or not the piping would fit decent.

 

I doubt it. Nothing like that ever seems to fit correctly.

I know 2 people that eBay exhausts and they both ended up ditching them. One barely fit, and the mounts on the mid pipe broke off, and began to crack within a couple months. The other fit decently, but all of the welds began to crack, and it started to rust badly. Both were loud as hell, and sounded terrible. They both hung pretty low as well.

Other issue that one had, was it was rubbing his CTR rear sway bar. his original, and WS2 both cleared just fine.

go custom and kink a fat apex or HKS or greddy ti N1 out the back...
