Traction bar for EF8/EE8 (not for usdm ED)
Hi, I have an European EE8 that have the same subframe of EF8 and I know that the traction bar is different from USDM Crx but tha same of USDM Integra DA.
Is that true? The ones who owns real JDM EF8 crx which traction bar use?
thanks

I remember in a few build threads here a while back some people were discussing this. They did some stuff to make certain ones work.
I would say your best bet is to contact the companies for the ones you're interested in, they might be able to give you some info. http://www.explicitspeedperformance.net/ makes some traction bars and they have mounts for the EE8/EF8 chassis in their product lineup, they do their own R&D so chances are they can make a traction bar setup for your application.
Post up in the thread if you find anything out or send a pm my way, I've got an EF8 and I'll be looking into traction bars later on during the build, I've been wondering the same thing but putting it off until I get there.

very interesting your question "tonyjdm"....i need to know too.....
yes, the ef8 front crossmember is the same as the da6/9 integra crossmember. the ef8/ da9 similarities make possible one of the best looking but rarest front end swaps, crx sir on integra hatch. Not really a fan of the da integra front end.

similar, but the sir hood is taller to clear a b series, whereas the ed hood is not. also, the header panel needs to be removed and the sir header panel spotwelded in its place. alignment is pretty good after the front frame rails are shortened about 10 inches or so to match those on the crx. This front end has the appearance of shortening the integra front end a decent amount. If you're good (read "GOOD") at photoshop then the lineup point is halfway across the wheel well using the integra front fender rear section and the crx front fender front section. This wasthe best fender setup i found to match the integra door lines.
The traction bar for an ee8/9 or ef8/9 but not an ed8/9 must be the same as any da6/9, correct. Be careful saying any DA, because the 86-89 integra is a DA1/3 and the traction bar for those, if one exists, is not correct. Only 90-93 integra
only da6/9 or there are other da? I'm ignorant about us domestic market cars since i'm from a country that doesn't know any integra before 1998...
As far as this traction bar stuff goes I think you guys should really check with the manufacturers of the traction bars, you won't get any solid answers on message boards there's too much in terms of "he said this, they said that, so and so knows a friend of a friend who put this on his car blablabla..."
Don't go making assumptions based on online theories, the people that make the traction bars have good reputations and will take time to give you the right answer because they know what's up! Only takes a minute to call or email them.

Wise answer, but many manufacturers said "for EF" meaning for ED just because for customer is cool to have a JDM name... and they call EF what in the reality is and ED...
And i tell that it's easy to tell "yes it's for EF, buy my traction bar, i ship you the traction bar so far away for many cash" but they think if it's wrong it could be too expansive to send back the wrong stuff and to pay another shipping.... I dont know if it's understandeble what i said...

Could you tell me which tractionbar you used? I'm interested in one as well and was looking at the Innovative version as it uses the chassis mountingpoints and not the towhook holes.
You put the front crossmember, were the DA radius rods the same length and did they work or did you use the CR-X ones? This would be good to know as well for us.
As everybody knows the engine mounts are different too between EE/EF and ED. Do the integra DA share the same mounts of EF/EE too?
Bumping this topic up
I've bought a da fullrace traction bar...what has to be done to make this fit an sir crx
From what I can see, where it bolts up to the tow points is not the same bolt pattern from da to sir...I haven't pulled out the oem cross member yet so I'm unsure of front engine mount fitment...any help is appreciated

So the bolt pattern is different but is the side to side width from framerail to framerail right? How about the length of the rods?
Some people go without the front engine mount, but still would be nice to see if that fits as well.
side to side width is spot on....the radius rods look like they will fit.....engine mount looks like it will fit...rods and engine mount ill know 100% tomorrow
where it bolts onto the existing tow point is the issue ....the bolt pattern is different,im thinking of just drilling new holes through the full race plate to match up to the existing holes......the only other thing that needs to be done is to cut about half an inch of the full race plates(the metal plate that bolts on to the oem tow point) just so the bar sits correctly.....still it would be great to hear from someone who has a fullrace bar on a sir crx....just to see if im on the right track
im going to attack it tomorrow so ill post a few pics of the procedure..it might help someone in the future

i have the innovative traction bar on my DA and love it...honestly i cant justify spending anymore than what i did on the bar when most of the other companies that make them look exactly the same just have a different brand on them.
