F-series VTEC head [SOHC]... someone correct me if i'm wrong but i think there is only the F22B1 and the F23A1. maybe there is some European or Japanese variant that i'm forgetting but even then i doubt they're much better.

to the point, as i understand neither of these two heads flows well compared to other offerings from honda. the F22Ax (non-VTEC) is said to be the best flowing single cam option. look into that one.

VTEC. "v-tech" is a kind of cordless phone i use in my house .

I think there's just the f22b1 and f23a1 as stated. If you really want vtec then get the f22b1, it'll be a lot easier. But that still flows like and if your just looking for power you wont notice anything. Accord vtec is econo vtec and only works on the intake side...

So you have the DOHC F22B? And congratulations on "pulling" on street cars. And what exactly is an h20? If your just street racing other kids, then dont.

And if all you say you need is a 50 shot, then why not do that? I've never seen or taken apart a F22B head, but the f22B2/b1 heads are nothing incredible. It would probably drastically decrease power.

If your just romping around the streets then get some plain jane boltons, cams and a tune.

EDM/CD5 is just troll'n. The F22B DOHC Non VTEC was sold in the Si Prelude in Japan. Never saw the EDM market..... h20...lol just a troll is all he is! He isn't pulling on much without a 50 shot with an F22B VTEC.

Funny i was thinking of saying the same thing (about acting like civic drivers ) but figured somebody would get mad.

But yes I feel like I have seen at least a dozen of "can put an (insert vtec/H series head here) on my f22?!" in just the past few days.

Wish people would flip through the faqs before posting, you notice how Cb7 tuner locks their marketplace unless you read the faq? pretty good idea...

To answer the OPs original question. The F22B1 VTEC head flows just as well as the B2 head, like poop. The B1 VTEC isn't worth it...as has been mentioned in about 4 different threads in the past 3 days. The F23 VTEC head would probably be the better flowing of the two....not by much however. Using an F23 IM would require some slight modifications. Note: doing the F23 head swap and not using the F23 IM would be a complete waste!

I have done the swap.
My conclusion is unless you are ripping apart a BHG motor that needs a new head anyways don't bother. If you are undertaking such an endeavor already then it gets you a nice little gain with minimal hassle.

If you want gobs o power. Do something else.

Bottom line is this: you have an accord, from the '90s. It was made to haul little Johhny to his pop warner games and get groceries. If you want a fast accord, bust out ya checkbook.

Seriously!

With all your experience you should know that the F22A1-6 came in the USDM 4th gen CB7s not F22Bs...lol And once again no the DOHC F22B did not see the European market. The SOHC F22B5 did though.... You've been building these for 7 years and still don't seem to have a clue!

JDM engines use a 4 digit code. Whereas the EDM and USDM blocks use a 5 digit code.

F22B, H23A, H22A = JDM
F22B1,F22B2,H22A1, F22Z2, H23A1...etc..etc are USDM/EDM.

Honestly, I'm not making this up! Have a and chill!

BTW, I'm pretty sure that the EDM CD7/CD9 F22B5 SOHC engines use the same build specs as the USDM engines!

Listen to Ghost! He knows what he's talking about. Not just the talk, but he's also building one and he has more experience than you with proof!

If you've been building these F22 SOHC motors for seven years, you wouldn't be saying "the non vtec f22b came in the cb7", and FIY, the CB7 came with the F22Ax here in the US, not the F22B. Lol.

Look, we're not here to bash on you. We're just trying to educate you and to correct some things that may be mis-understood or from mis-communications. Hope you understand.
