Default just picked up my first crv.

as a lifelong honda owner i am shocked by the amount of decent cup holders in this this. i love it.
will get pics up tommorow
98 black crv auto.
b20 isnt cutting it. looking for 300 hp. i will be swapping a 5 spd in it in the next few weeks.

how much power is the transfer case able to take?
i am pretty sure i will be taking it all out and run fwd
i have a fresh gsr motor i just picked up and am debating on putting that with a b16 tranny and cut up the floor for the shift rods.

or

full h22 swap with lsd.

turbo will be going on after motor is in.

currently waiting on a custom set of full coilovers. integra and tsx mix and match with 12k/8k spring rates.

also i will be building a custom rear subframe to replace the tubular one thats on there now that bolts the rear lca's and diff. i will be moving the control arm mounting points up and outward approximatly 3.25 inches. this will enable me to run 96-00 civic aftermarket control arms and asr subframe brace and itr swaybar.

havent completely decided on wheels but im pretty set on 17x8 rpf1's

thats too much mods on the rear suspension anyway just update us....
as far is i know, gen2 crvs has an aftermarket LCA w/c is similar to civic es
body so you might wanna go close to that since gen2 is already a rt4wd
so just modify it somewhat close to that.. as for the tubular casing of the
rear diff, honda designed it like that so we wont worry about having a rear
tie bar..its already rigid, the only thing i upgraded was my sway bar to a much
meatier one(24mm,i think?) i did felt the difference as soon as i changed it...
i do track my V, autox...circuit..road course..etc it did made my V handle much
better....
as for your engine swap, i think monkeymagic did a full gsr swap(fwd) drilled
out a small hole for the linkage to bolt on, id still stay for the B series engine
and go all out on it coz H series is tooo much mods to install if you still wanna
keep the basic stuff a/c and p/s hence being a crv.... newby_j is still working
on his H swap you might wanna check his thread, on my part i have a spare V
that still on the drawing board, idk if id go for a K swap of a J swap, we were
looking in the mounts(civic) whichever has the less mods that might give us a
good plan....

goodluck on your V!!

i understand that the rear subframe is extremely durable. my reasoning for making a custom one is because i will be removing the rtawd sytem and going h22. i will not really need the frame hanging down and looking funny. i can build a custom one that enables me to relocate the rear lcas upward to counter the travel i will lose by slamming the crap out of it. im not really convinced how well it actually works but i dont believe its worth the limitations it provides. i love the torque in the h22 and believe its a suitable powerplant for a 3000lb vehicle and will be sufficient for popping around town untill the turbo setup goes on.

i know i promissed pics but my cameras not working on my iphone. trying to dig out the old digital cam.

i did manage to pick up some coilovers and some baller rims

17x9 volk gtu +20 with 235/45r17
rims are pure sex.

coilovers are tein ss for a integra type r jdm spec. the rears have the lower eye style like the v's. they are substantially shorter than the oem crv shock.
worse case i will be welding a 3" bracket on top of the rear lower control arm .

suspension and wheels on tomorow pics tomorow night as i just found my camera but its time for bed.

also got a secret front bumper that will suprise alot of guys lol

it looks really beat in these pics. its far from mint but it is decent looking. and its still just a beater. lol. already got a new fender. waiting till i get the bumper ready this weekend. i have to adjust the front down another inch. i trimmed off the lip on the rear wheelarches and also trimmed the metal behind. i have to do some quick welding and get them back on. gonna be a busy weekend. gonna try and get my gsr head on too.

i have dc2 type r tein ss on it right now. rides on rails. a bit firm because i have the dampening all the way stiff. they went on very easily. they are adjusted all the way up right now. i can go probably 4" lower.lol.

everything bolted on no problem but the rear was way too low. and the camber was like 10 degrees. i fabbed up some 3" riser mounts for the rear lower control arms. i used 1 3/4 square tubing slid that inside the shock mount hole. then i welded some ears on top of that to bolt the shock to. super easy and took me like ten minutes.

i kind of regret the size and offset of the wheels but i think it looks killer and nothing rubs at the current height unless i drive aggressively.

i will be picking up some 16" itr wheels and put some r compounds on for the trackday at the end of the month. they should actually fit the car properly.

fwiw i think the perfect size wheel for these is 17x8 +35 offset.
