I have a 96 Civic Ex with a d16y8 swap, will a p2p ecu from a 99-00 ex civic work?

i know 96-98 is obd2 but is 99-00 civic ex obd2b?

or all 96-00 ex civic use the same P2P ecu.?

i know the 99-00 SI is Obd2b


thx LMK, cus someone is selling a 99-00 P2P ecu, but i got confused because i thought all civic ex from 96-00 use the same p2p ecu.

 

The 99-00 OBD2b ECU won't work in your 96 OBD2a Civic because the ECUs are pinned differently. There may be OBD2a/OBD2b conversion harnesses available, if you think this would help.

which is incorrect cus 96-98 p2p is obd2 while 99-00 p2p is obd2b.

Yeah, the description is somewhat confusing. There are OBD2a P2P ECUs and OBD2b P2P ECUs -- and they are not interchangeable.
