Q: about applying undercoating?
I have a 1991 civic
I live in Minnesota
I'm doing my suspension, wire tuck and brake line tuck.
While I'm in there I figured I might as well apply new undercoating.
Questions:
1) Is it required to remove off all current undercoating.... or.... just remove the ones that are flaking off?
2) What brand should I go with .... rustoleum....3M?
3) how many cans do I need to do the complete undercarriage?

1. All flaking undercoating should be removed for sure, and places that are not flaking should be cleaned and scuffed the best you can.
2. 3M is always good, but it won't make a huge difference as long as the prep is done right. It's not like paint that is exposed to to UV light and quality counts.
3. Don't know what kind of cans you are referring to? How are you planning to apply it?

i hit my car over the week with some duplicolor i got at pep boys in a can, it was the most expensive so i got it, along with some scuff pads and a pressure wash. Covered up the skunk2s and sprayed pretty much 1 can a side, looks good ha

The stuff in the spray can is ok, but it is much thinner when it dries than the stuff you have to spray yourself with a rust-proof gun. If you have the $$, using a gun would turn out much better, but either way works.
