Icon2 Need help with Temp Gauge

Greetings,

I have been to the dealership twice for this problem already. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My car is a 2004 Honda Civic. It has been doing a strange thing where the temperature gauge will start to slowly climb. This occurs when I am sitting in traffic or on HOT days. If I turn the car off and restart it, the temperature gauge shows that the cars temp is now in the middle (keep in mind this is literally RIGHT AFTER it just showed the temp is high). I had the Thermostat changed and had it to the dealer TWICE. The water pump was just changed two weeks ago and they flushed the coolant and replaced the coolant. Has anyone had an experience like this and has any ideas? At this point, I am thinking maybe the gauge is faulty but I am no mechanic and I am getting frustrated with the dealership.

Get a scan tool that reads temps, plug it into OBD port to see what the temp really is.

You could try the self-diagnostic function, but I doubt the cluster is the issue.

Have you checked for trapped air in the cooling system?
