Default i FINALLY got it!!!!!!

Well i finally got an engine. Its a b18a that i bought this weekend. I had to drive 15 hours(round trip) to alabama to pick it up but it was only $800 so it was worth it. And we stayed in Atlanta on the way back so we got to chill with some dudes that had PHAT cars. The engine is in really good condition....but its a little dirty so tomorrow im gonna tear it apart and clean the hell out of it. I need some tips on cleaning it....besides the obvious crap...what else needs to be done? Im gonna take everything apart so what should i pay attention to? And while i have it apart im gonna visually inspect it for wear so what all do i need to look for? Ill post pics of it after i clean it up. Thanks alot guys.

parts cleaner works great for cleaning engines. if that doesnt work steam clean em (what cadilac does) if thatdoesnt work paint em. look for fucked up valves, bent rods, do a compression check. looks for broken **** look for oil crusted on the valve train etc. if it looks like **** some where, it is

If you are going to tear the motor completly apart I suggest Xiploc bags and a marker. Mark every little thing that comes off the motor and where it went. If you are not for sure then make something up so you will remember where it went. Good luck.
