my sister has a 99 or 2000ish TL and the D5 is always flashing. is this just a code i need to have read? or is it something stupid that i can just reset like a maint req'd type light for the transmission.. the car has approx 135k if i remember correctly.

yes, get the code read. could just be a sensor issue, or it could be a clutch issue....good luck

 

i had this problem and it was a sensor that was bad. however, it is generally an indicator leading up to mechanical failure. get it checked ASAP.

two sensors were going bad(i dont recall which ones), they were replaced along with new fluids and everything is running well.!
