Default STD 4 Speed Transmission to CRX Si Tranny HELP!

What all do I need for this tranny swap?
I have the Si tranny, and a good mount for it. Do I need ANYTHING else?
(I.E.: Different shift linkage, shifter... etc...)

PLEASE, HELP!

Remove and replace. The axles, linkage, starter, mounts, all the same.

I believe you will need the front knuckle and hub assembly from a CRX Si or DX and you will need the CRX Si axles.

^^^ Correct

The spline counts on the outside shaft of an axle is different.

Std/Hf- 21 splines
Dx/Si-- 26 splines

I have an HF that had an Si shortblock in it and i swapped to an si tranny i only replaced the clutch cause it was slipping and a worn down mounts. The axles have worked fine for 2 years now. And as far as i know the spline count is not determined by model but by year 88-89 and 90-91.

This is correct. This also goes for clutches too! So what ever year trans you have. Your going to also need clutch and axles to be the same year

You can just use the HF/STD axles they work fine. Its the outers/ hub end that is smaller.

88s have a more or less splines on the clutch side i forget witch and also the clutch itself is smaller in diameter. 89s uses the same splines as the 89-up but also use the smaller disc. 90 up are all the same.

I just did this swap last week in my car... I drive a 1991 dx hatchback.... So the tranny i got was a 1990 civic/crx SI. I took the starter out and drained the tranny and pulled the axles and all the other bolts. I used my old shift linkage and my old mounts. The other thing different i used was the tranny itself. REPLACE YOUR THROWOUT BEARING in the new tranny. The ef trannys are different but only between 1988/1989/1990-1991. You can't only swap out a tranny if it crosses years... So if you have a 1989 just a 1989 si tranny and so on. Super easy swap but did take a whole day to do it. Good luck and let us know how it went...
