'84 prelude, turn it on, let go of key and it switches to the II position, turns car off
Ok, I was approached by a guy who thought I was a mechanic wanting to see if I could help him. He has an '84 prelude, well the topic describes it pretty well doesn't it? He starts the car and when he lets go of the key it pops into the number II position. Sounds like he needs to replace the cylinder but I thought I would see if there is another answer.

I would have to guess the lock assembly too, it points a pretty strong finger towards it......
