My car will not stay running unless you hold the key cranked all the way like your starting it. It will drive if you hold the key forward but as soon as you let go of the key the car will die even with the throttle open. I dont know if this is an ignition switch problem or the alternator or what. Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated. thanks

 

I just replaced the ignition switch and that was the problem. $55 part from autozone
