Can I use mobil 1 to top off my trans fluid?

I just finished draining and filling my b16 trans but I only had 2 quarts of Honda mtf. Can I top off with something other than Honda mtf? Dealership is closed today

I wouldn't imagine it causing any problems, but I wouldn't mix fluids like that either. If you just need enough to top it off it should be fine for now to wait till you get more MTF.

It needs more than 2 quarts? Mine wouldn't even take 2 full quarts (SiR LSD tranny).

If it was me, I would run it a little low on fluid until I could get more. Who knows what mixing the two oils will do.

^ I think it holds like 2.3 quarts or something of the like. It would be fine to run for now till he can get more MTF if he has the full 2 quarts already in.

It takes like 2.5 qts. Moot point bc my buddy had a case of Honda mtf and I just grabbed a qt. Thanks anyway guys

its actually 2.1qts and 5w-30 is an alternate fluid if honda mtf is not available but will cause issues long term due to increased friction ( sourced from alldata )
