b16 transmission problem
Ok guys here is my question....I have a S4C transmission from a 99-00 civic Si and I removed the transmission casing to take a look to see if anything was wrong and I noticed 2 rings broken and sitting there. Now my question is are they the Synchro springs that are broken? They are the small skinny rings. To explain more I was driving and instead of going into 3rd it went into 1st by accident at 60mph. (Don't flame) Like I said it was an accident. So basically after that it will not down shift into 3rd and you have to hold it in 3rd for a sec for it to catch, but it will upshift into 3rd. And also after awhile it pops out of 5th. I see no other damage other than that. Your info is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

You see no damage other than that? What does it matter what these broken rings do? I don't see any other info to give you other than to fix if it you have the skills or take it somewhere to get repaired.
Most tech questions arise from the fact that there is something wrong but the person posting does not know what it is. In your case you not only know what is broken but you also know what caused it to be broken.
If you are able fix the problem or take it to someone that can. If it is a matter of you not knowing WHAT is broken (which is NOW indicated by your edited post) then post up pics to help people identify the broken parts or take the broken parts to a Honda dealership or better yet look up the parts at Majestic Honda.
