I have no brake lights on my 2000 s2k. I've replaced the bulbs but the trunk brake light wasn't working either so i didn't figure it was that. I checked all the fuses they check out. Horn works. Cruize control works. I took apart the brake switch and cleaned the contact sensors in it and put it back in... still no brake lights. But cruize control works so i didn't really figure it was that either. whats left?!?

 

is the car new to you or have you had it for sometime and the brake lights worked before?

If it is new to you does it have a hitch? Or have you recently installed a hitch and turn signal conversion for the hitch?

 

No i've had the car for 4 years. nothing new was done to it when I was told the lights wern't working

 

hmm you have a wiring problem one of the brake signals could be grounded/shorted out. Only way to find it is wire chasing.

the problem was the stop light switch, it was bad. It should be known that the cruize control test only tells you right away if its your brake light switch. My cruize control worked but the switch was still bad
