How long does it take for a brand new throttle cable to stop stretching?
Its getting irritating. I finally get used to a throttle position, then I feel like I am not getting good throttle response. I tighten it back up, and now I have to get used to a throttle position all over again. I installed a new one almost a month ago. Drove it for about 800-1000 miles since then. So how long does a new throttle cable take to stop expanding?
To be quiet honest with you its a cable and it shouldn't really stretch that much cause there isn't really a large amount of weight to test the tinsel strength
yeah, that is quite true. I actually see that it stopped stretching...it was just the initial stretch that was annoying. I had it tight, and then it must have developed some slack...then I did it again...but I didn't like it so I loosened it a bit more.
sit in the car and put the pedel to the floor and have someone try to open the butterfly on the T/B. IF its all the way open your car is fine. if its not open and he can move it farther open by hand even tho you have the gas to the floor then you need to tighten it.
it works for now. I was just wondering.
