Jeez. I'm quite sure there's got to be at lest ONE tutorial on the Appearance section. You should try looking there.

How about you go buy some spray paint and test on a cardboard first.

You asked HOW to paint your rims. Tutorial that explains it all. If you want Championship White then PAINT THEM CHAMPIONSHIP WHITE!

In simple terms for you.
Buy Championship White paint.
Put Championship White paint on your rims.

Your really making this harder on yourself, then it is or it needs to be. Hell, I painted my freind's webs while drunk as hell and it looked it good!

Painting wheels is really simple, Yes it's easy for them to look like ****, but it's also really easy for them to look really good!

Get some scotch bright pads, some primer, and Champ white paint, paper, painters tape, to cover up anything you don't want painted, and clear.(this is optional, but I would)

----------------------------------
-Scotch bright pads, and scuff up the wheels a little bit. Don't go crazy, and don't push really hard. You don't want to be putting a bunch of deep scratches in the wheel/finish.
You really are just scuffing them up.

-Pull the wheels off with compressed air or something to get the dust off. Then tape everything you don't want painted.

-Next take your primer, (shaken well of course) and lay it down lightly, in even coats. Don't start and stop while over the wheel. You will end up with spot with more or less primer then others. Throw a couple of coats on them.

-Let primer sit for as long as the can says to .

-Now grab your paint. again, light even coats. Don't just gob it on there, it will look like ***.

-Then clear, and spray as can says.

See, it's really simple to do this.

Getting but hurt and calling people names is no way to get help. It's actually a quick way for people to never want to help you again. I know I wouldn't.

No one is going to spoon feed you info, stop being lazy and search. Google how to spray paint a wheel!

so anywayz, i had a quick question, i noticed that the DIY that was provided earlier has no tires only the rims
since my car is my daily driver, would i have to take the tires off or could i paint them with the tires still on the rims?

good luck, don't half azz the job or you'll regret it. When I painted my last wheels I spent about 2hrs per wheel. Mostly in prep.

is that DIY a little to old tho?

like what i mean is, its a article from 2002, i was just wondering if any of those materials would be like out of date or not the best for the job anymore.
do you get what im saying? like im wondering if there are maybe now better materials to use than the ones that were listed in the DIY

No, A diy is a diy, doesn't matter if it's from 2002 or now, that has absolutely no effect on painting your wheels.

It's a fairly straight forward process. Go to your local parts store and pick up:

*Sand paper - I used 400 grit for areas that had some rash, then 800 to smooth down more, then 1000 to finish
*Primer
*Paint
*Clear (optional, but recommended)
*Paint prep / prep wipes / denatured alcohol
*Blue painters tape (if wheels are still on)
*Paper (news paper works great)

1) Start by cleaning the wheels really well with some dish soap and warm water

2) Sand the wheels with the 800-1000 grit to remove any small imperfections and if you have any larger imperfections such as rash sand it with the lower grit

3) Wash again with the soap and water. After dry wipe it down with the paint prep or prep wipes.

4) Apply a layer of primer (not too much). Read the label for flash time between coats. Apply another layer or two of primer till it's well coated. Allow to dry.

5) Wipe again with the prep. Apply paint in thin coats, again following flash times on can.

6) Wipe with prep. Clear, again light coats, follow directions on can.

7) Let dry, enjoy.

Don't worry about it, spray paint technology hasn't changed in the past 10 years to my knowledge. Just follow the advice on here and your wheels will turn out well.

all I will add is with any sort of paint work, the amount of time and effort you put into doing the prep work properly has a HUGE effect on the final product. if you don't take the time to prep them it will look like *****. so sand thoroughly, clean thoroughly. take your time and do it right, don't cut corners or rush.
