Default burning mad oil..

hey guys i think my R is about to go out... im burning like a quart every 500-600 miles... but it seems like i burn oil when i cruise on the freeway (3.5rpm -4.5rpm) . everytime i redline it and i would wait for it to cool down and check my oil level and it seems like it didnt burn anything. idk if my piston rings are going out or my valve seals..
i did a compression test and my motor is 225-230 all across ( thats with WOT)

ohh and my rear bumper is covered with black spot! ..

i also get like... 21mpg...
any suggestion? TIA

Its just personal experience. Iv used mobil1 synthetic then switched to amsoil synthetic now i use gastrol gtx. All 3 oils burned the same amount of oil. So why not use the cheapest.

how many miles are on the engine and how hard has it been driven? usually a quart every 500 miles is the warning that you're going to blow a hole in a ringland or frag and exhaust valve.

worn rings, guides and harden, cracked seals are the usual cause. not just one of those, all 3

With those compression numbers, it might be a valve seal issue that's causing you to burn oil. Oil is going to burn off faster on the highway than it would around town. Sitting at 4-4.5k on the highway means the engine is rotating at 75 times per second with oil being squirted directly under the piston by the oil squirters. It's no surprise that hondas burn more oil on the highway.

my car is at 110k miles and i have the same exact problem as you. black spots all over my back bumper as well. i really don't know whats the cheapest way to go about this. my mechanic said that if he were to dissassemble everything to fix whatever the problem is, its gonna cost an arm and a leg on just labor cost so he said the quickest and cheapest way is to do engine swap but i don't know where can i find a b18c5 long block from now a days.

I just fixed my bumper soot problem by accident. Last oil change went to the Honda brand synthetic blend oil. I know, i know...if someone told ME that I wouldnt believe them. Try it.

i'm talking about valve guides.. not the valve itself..

take the head off and see if u can see anything wrong.. get some friends help..
once you take the head out you can bring it to a machine shop and see if they see something wrong with it?

that's my guess of going the cheapest way possible
