Demon or ecu damage to pin j1?
ok, so i've had my ecu chipped and running on crome for about a year now no problems. I decided to switch to neptune while i also went to a vtec setup. At first when i installed the demon, it seemed to be working ok. It would read the base code fine and all sensors seemed to datalog correctly. Then all of a sudden it just stopped datalogging altogether. It says connected but recieves no data from sensors. So i took off the demon to inspect it and noticed that the j1 jumper on the ecu touched the demon board. It left a little electrical burn mark on the demon but no other visible damage. With the demon unplugged or plugged in to the ecu, i can confirm that it receives the base code fine but it wont datalog. Doesnt seem as if the ecu knows that the demon board is there. I can start the car for a second with the demon unplugged which is really weird too. Kinda like its trying to run off the stock chip. It does the same thing when the demon is installed as well, it will run off the stock map it seems. Could j1 have possibly been damaged and thats why its not seeing the demon
Btw, from what ive read, j1 doesnt get power it just acts as a jumper to switch the secondary chip area on. So if j1 isnt jumped then it will read the stock chip only. Could power from the ecu via the demon have grounded through j1 and burned it up The jumper itself looks fine.
