I have replaced the rear hatch on my 00GSR (NHBP). There is nothing wrong with the hatch, I swapped it our for one with a 3rd brake light in the glass. The one I am listing F/S has the 3rd brake light mounted in the spoiler. Glass is clear with no scratches, defroster works. I will take pictures tonight and post tomorrow.
